If you or your kids can't enjoy the great outdoors, that doesn't mean you can't have fun inside with these activities.
1. Indulge in a relaxing spa and massage treatment - There are many spas around the Brazos Valley offering facials, body scrubs, traditional and Thai massage.
2. Learn something new - Try your hand at cooking, fruit carving, decorating, or whatever strikes your fancy. A number of home improvement stores or nurseries offer indoor programs for adults and kids.
3. Go shopping and melt the wet day worries away - Antiques, clothing, fabrics, home wares, souvenirs and more. Bryan/College Station is full of places to shop for almost any item.
4. Take a tour - When visiting Bryan/College Station, you should take time to stop by the majestic and colorful Texas A&M University, Blue Bell Ice Creamery, historic downtown Bryan, or the George Bush Library. Sometimes, the gloom and mist of the rain often adds a hint of mystery to the experience.
5. Do a classic rainy-day standby - Go bowling, take in a movie or both! With two theaters and a couple of bowling alleys to choose from, the possibilities are endless.
6. See a thrilling live nature show – Sit on your porch or in front of the window at a cozy restaurant, or your home, and watch an exciting display of storm clouds and wild rain.
7. Grab a book and go to a coffee shop - There’s an abundance of cafes and coffee houses in the Brazos Valley. Reading is a relaxing way to wile away a grey afternoon.
8. Take a step back in time - Learn more about Bryan/College Station’s past by exploring different museums, old historic buildings or learning more from books in the library.
9. Check your fortune – The Eagle offers a daily horoscope. See if they’ll predict when the sun will come out.
10. Get a tune-up - Visit the doctor for health and dental services. Go for a health check, teeth cleaning, an acupuncture session, or maybe even a facial at your dermatologist. It’s all available in Bryan/College Station.
11. Get moving - There are many places around town that offer instruction in fitness and health techniques such as yoga, aerobics, dance, Pilates, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai kick-boxing and more, as well as a range of indoor sports facilities. No need to be a couch potato here!
12. Wallow in the wet - Go for a stroll, take a muddy and wild ATV adventure, or grab an umbrella and explore the nooks, crannies and small lanes around town. A rainfall gives any excursion a new dimension - most notably an absence of the usual searing heat. |
